(October 21, 2009) Chatters Canada hosted its second Chatters Stylist Connection and Makeover Challenge in partnership with Redken 5th Avenue, NYC. This hair styling education event held in Red Deer, Alberta, attracted close to 300 attendees with over 83 people entering the Makeover Challenge.

This intensive 2 day professional event was designed exclusively for Chatters hairstylists to provide an exciting forum that teaches the latest in hair techniques, trends and styles. It also offers stylists an opportunity to showcase their talent, to win prizes and inspire others. Stylists were challenged to use the inspiration of Redken’s New York City vibe to create a look that was URBAN, TRENDY, and SEXY and which showcased choice of color and cut in an edgy, cosmopolitan way. Six judges were looking for shiny, healthy, beautiful hair that epitomized the essence of Redken, and colors that capture the essence of today’s fashion.

Renowned industry artists Brent Borreson and Alicia Marcano both with Redken demonstrated Redken’s latest hair and business trends live on stage, helping stylists put to use the new information to take their beauty industry career to the next level.

The two-day event culminated with a formal banquet and awards ceremony. Winners were announced as follows:

STYLIST OF THE YEAR winner receives a personalized trophy, press and online announcement, airfare, 3 nights accommodation, $500 spending money plus one ticket for an educational program at the Redken Exchange in Toronto.
